Student Protest Hong Kong

Dear editor, Please find attached some photos from the largest ever student demonstration in Hong Kong which took place today for your publishing use. The students were well organised and in full spirits to get their message across and put pressure over the the control of Beijing over Hong Kong. All the major roads in the financial district are still blocked since evening because students refuse to move. This is just the beginning of another major rally to take place on Oct 1st- Occpy Central. Athens Graffiti Trains

Posted: 28 Sep 2014 04:44 AM PDT

We have been living near the Athens Olympic Stadium OAKA for three years now. At the back of our flat trains of Line 1 (Green Line) would pass by every ten minutes or so. Line 1 which opened on February 27,1869 is the oldest of the three Athens Metro which runs from Kifisia to Pireaus. It is also one of the oldest trains in Europe.

Most of the trains are full of graffiti. The first trains had no graffiti on them (photo no. 5). I took these photos from our veranda at around 1pm today, Sept 28.

Posted: 28 Sep 2014 04:25 AM PDT

At around 1700 hrs this afternoon, democracy protesters in Hong Kong effectively paralysed the streets the financial and administrative district in Hong Kong. However, it is apparent that the police force have not responded to the blockade depicted in the picture and public buses among other forms of public transport are in complete stand-still. Seen on the bottom left of the picture are protesters setting up a road blockade, while the building on the background is the People Liberation Army's Hong Kong Garrison Head Quarters.

Seen in the background closer to the right is the building which houses the People Liberation Army, Hong Kong Garrison Head Quarters.

The Virginia & Truckee Railroad: In the Wild West!

Posted: 27 Sep 2014 01:30 PM PDT

In the small gold rush era town called Virginia City, Nevada, there is one of the oldest and most historic train system's in the West. That system is called the Virginia & Truckee railroad, and although it is a short line railroad it still has done a lot of work, and continues to work until this day.
It is open to tourists or visitors, almost, year round, and they have holiday trains for Halloween and Christmas.
I have watched the train from a jeep trail, and often, wild horses can be seen in the area, along side the train tracks.

They have both diesel and steam locomotives, and steam locomotive #29 named the Robert Cray is older than me, and is one of my favorites. I highly recommend this railroad to anyone who loves trains, gold mines, and the Wild West. You can find more information at their website; www.virginiatruckee.com
