Eid al-Adha also called the Feast of the Sacrifice is the second of two religious holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide each year . It honors the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his promised son. Ishmael (Ismail)a as an act of submission to God's (Allah) command, before God then intervened to provide Abraham with a lamb to sacrifice instead. (Credit: Wikipedia)

Hong Kong Protests: Protesters Wake Up to Third Day of Street Occupation

Posted: 29 Sep 2014 08:23 PM PDT

As the day breaks in Hong Kong at around 6 am this morning (9/30) local time, protesters in Hong Kong island woke up to the third day of protests and street occupations.

Wan Chai

In the streets near Hong Kong Police Headquarters in Wan Chai district where protesters camped through the night, police was seen containing the protesters to the two ends of the street to make way for police vehicles to pass through. A number of protesters were still asleep on the streets and chantings by the particular group have not commenced. (first picture)

Admiralty

In the protest site close to the government offices complex in the Admiralty district, protesters have mostly awaken and have put out their umbrellas to cover themselves from the rays of the sun. In the aftermath of the use of tear gas by the police on Sunday (9/28), protesters have also associated themselves with the umbrella as one of their symbols. Occasional chantings can be heard and police are on guard in front of the government complex. Metro exits in Admiralty station that were blocked yesterday (9/29) are now open. (second picture)

Central

In a major road of the Central district, the number of protesters on the street were less than that of the group in Admiralty, while makeshift road blocks set up by protesters at some parts of Central have been abandoned. (third picture)

Kindergarten to secondary schools in the Western and Central District remained close today (9/30), and most public bus routes are still suspended.

Prepping for Umbrella Revolution

Posted: 29 Sep 2014 12:48 PM PDT

With the police taking the back seat in today's demonstrations, it has given time to the students to plan and prep for what lies ahead....uncertainty.

The Occupy Central with 'Love & Peace' has gained tremendous traction and surpassed event the expectations of the organisers.
People today also started gathering in a new spot in Kowloon (Mong Kok) where a dozen speeches are being made.

The Stansted Express

Posted: 29 Sep 2014 06:48 AM PDT

In England, I traveled from the Stansted Airport, which is 30 miles North East of London to the Liverpool Street Station. The trip was only 55 minutes, and the sun was just going down. What made this trip so magical was coming into London, all the old apartments buildings were illuminated from the inside with little lamps, it 's a beautiful site to see. The icing on the cake, was arriving at the Liverpool Station and witnessing it's beauty.  I didn't want to leave as it was so overwhelming, so I put my bags down and took this picture after everyone had departed from the train! I remember the conductor stopped and asked if he could help me and I told him I felt like I had stepped off the train and had gone back in time.  I would do that trip again in a heartbeat.
