Posted: 11 May 2014 05:47 AM PDT

Cambay crocodiles are native to India and are very dangerous. The photo was shot in Bannerghatta National Park, Bangalore. Slowly moving Crocodiles, cool shades on water and falling leaves forced me to put all these in the frame.

Girls Preparatory Salutes Nigerian Mothers

Posted: 09 May 2014 12:43 PM PDT

I am Dr. Sue Groesbeck, Head of School, Interim,at Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. While this isn't a typical Salute to Troops, the Students and Adults at GPS salute the Mothers of the Nigerian girls who have disappeared. Following the guidelines distributed by the National Coalition of Girls Schools, we have been involved this week with learning about the Nigerian crisis and want to let the world know we support the families who have lost their daughters. As a girls school with almost 600 girls, we can't imagine losing even one of our girls. Our hearts brake for these families.
The Girls Preparatory School and McCallie School colors are Blue and Black. When it was announced that we would wear Red this week in support of #BringBackourGirls – there was a communal gasp. You see, our biggest rival in Chattanooga is another great school - The Baylor School – and their school color is Red. So, demonstrating that love has no boundaries, GPS wore RED. GPS is very technologically savvy and this footage was taken of the 600 girls and 100 adults with the school's drone. #BringBackourGirls is our Salute today. For Mothers in Nigeria and everywhere.

Calesa Parade

Posted: 09 May 2014 05:34 AM PDT

This is the Calesa Parade during The Vigan Binatbatan Festival of the Arts-May 1-4, 2014. For many years now, Calesa Parade became the main attraction of the Viva Vigan Festival of the Arts. It features around 100 calesa (horse-drawn vehicle) decorated with indigenous materials in accordance to the theme of the Viva Vigan. Viva Vigan's week-long festivities have both religious and secular importance. It starts on the 1st of May, when the whole country celebrates Labor Day and Vigan remembers its own Isabelo de los Reyes, who founded the country's first federation of labor. The catholic faithful also remembers on this day St. Joseph, patron saint of workers.

Majestic Mayon Volcano

This is the view taken in Tabaco Albay. A magnificent sunrise that provides light through the cone, a perfect calm sea that showed a reflection of one of the seven wonders of the world. I chose this photo because this place is memorable for me and it has the perfect view of Mayon Volcano.
