Actor, Bob Hoskins Passes at Age 71

Posted: 01 May 2014 11:44 AM PDT

Bob Hoskins will always be remembered for his role in the 1988 movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". I had the opportunity to be a tiny part of spreading the good news of the Opening Box Office Numbers to Bob Hoskins while working at the Marketing Department at The Walt Disney Studios.  A very pleasant man.

I've worked on several movies, but this production had an overwhelming excitement about it. Disney had brought together once again, Animation and Live Action, something they do well.  And Bob Hoskins shined in his role, and had a job keeping up with Roger Rabbit.

So thank you Bob Hoskins for being a part of one of my most exciting days at the Marketing for Motion Pictures Department at Disney.

Residents of Innerarity Island faced flood waters as Perdido Bay crept into their homes. These pictures were taken from a Kyocera Hydro smartphone, on a small paddle boat, as my daughter and I checked on the residents.

#BringBackOurGirls not tomorrow, TODAY!

Posted: 01 May 2014 05:09 AM PDT

Have you imagined what happened to these #234Girls? Waking up to chaos, looking but not seeing through their sleep-drugged eyes that tried to comprehend the uproar as the gates of their hostels were barged into? Or the intensity of their fears as they watched their school go up in flames, while being dragged by the hair, pushed, shoved, roughed-handled and carted away to the thick unknown forests.

They have been in captivity for over 2 weeks, reports speculate that they may have been sold into forced marriage. How can the world sit and watch?! It is no longer just the responsibility of the Nigerian Government - which so far, has proven  it self incapable of finding them, now it is your responsibility and mine!

We need to unite our voices, CRY OUT #BringBackOurGirls!

NB. There is a petition signed by over 80,000 people from all over the world (via http://www.change.org/petitions/over-200-girls-are-missing-in-nigeria-so-why-doesn-t-anybody-care-234girls)

Record Flooding in Pensacola, Fl.

Posted: 30 Apr 2014 06:50 PM PDT

It was just crazy. I kept to the central parts of Pensacola trying to check on the shop and friends. I couldn't make a straight shot to anywhere. Streets were rivers and cars that didn't make for very good boats. It was even stranger to see stranded cars left in the middle of roads with no standing waters. Then I realized "OH,,,these cars WERE in flooded areas just a few hours earlier."
Even after countless hurricanes, never have we seen so much rain in such a short period of time.

Record Breaking Lightning Strikes in Pensacola Florida

Posted: 30 Apr 2014 05:14 PM PDT

Upwards to 5,000 lightning strikes per hour and at one point a record breaking 6,000 strikes within 15 minutes. A grand total of over 70,000 and these a just a few images I captured right from my front porch. I live in an area near Pensacola, Fl. called Garcon Point. My home faces Escambia Bay and has a great view of the east side of Pensacola. These images where taken in just a few short minutes as the storm approached near 9 p.m. and then lasted until 4 a.m.. Dumping nearly 24 inches of water between April 29th and 30th, 2014.
